I live in Prägraten am Großvenediger, near the highest mountain of Austria the Grossglockner. From my childhood on, my parents went hiking with me and my sister. Later, mainly mountaineering with my father. Together with him, I took part in my first ski mountaineering race at the age of 6 years. To have fun was always the most important thing for me.
I love to be out in the mountains and to spend great days with my friends on my skis. Afterwards to stop at a hut, to drink something and enjoying the sun is for me just a perfect day.
For the next skimo-season, I would like to achieve good results in the World Cup, especially at the European Championships in Sicily. No less important to me are the Grande Course races where I want to fight with the best in the world for top results, maybe even a podium.
Outout Of Seasons Training
After the last race in winter, I still do some nice spring ski-tours in my home. It’s always a great time of the year which I enjoy very much. When the snow is melted I start with a training break where I do 3 weeks of no specific training. After this break, I enjoy the warm season with trailrunning, road-cycling, mountain biking and mountaineering.
My racing equipment is the Gara Aero World Cup 60 with the TR-Gara Titanium WC. It is the perfect combination of a fast ski and a reliable binding to which I can rely 100%. I also use the GARA Helmet to protect me in the races and during training. The Maestro is my first choice for spring ski-tours and powder snow days. I like to feel the boost of the wider ski in the deep snow to make large turns in an untouched slope. By the way: The weight of the Maestro is just awesome!
