ISMF World Cup: Skitrabber results
It was a double World Cup weekend for our athletes, in action on the slopes of Verbier, Switzerland and Flaine in France.
In Verbier two races were held, a Vertical in terrible weather conditions and an Individual on a course with a total height difference of 1,600m. Meanwhile in France the Sprint was held after the Individual race.
Four great results for Giulia Murada, the Valtellinese Skitrabber confirmed her leadership in the Under 23 category. Hot on her heels as ever is her teammate Giorgia Felicetti, who also took a podium place in 4 races.
Among the Under 23s Arno Lietha was the best sprinter: He blew the competition away on the French course and also managed third place in the Individual. He is now in second place in the overall classification.
In the U20s our athletes Samantha Bertolina and Lisa Moreschini have been stockpiling wins and podium places: 2 wins and 2 second places for the Valtellinese athlete, 1 win, 1 second and 1 third place for the athlete from Trentino, confirming their leadership in the category.
Robin Bussard saw success in the U20s Sprint in Flaine, followed in second place by his brother Thomas. He also gained second place in both Individual races, and is now in second place in the Overall U20 classification. Third place in the Swiss Individual on home ground for Leo Besson, while Matteo Sostizzo finished second in the Vertical in Verbier.
Among the seniors Marianne Fatton, winner of the 2020 World Cup, dominates the overall classification: the Swiss Skitrabber stormed first place in the Sprint in Flaine, also taking a podium place in the Individual race. Third place in the Sprint for Spaniard Marta Garcia Farres (third in the overall classification).
With his success in the Individual race in Verbier, and some excellent results at the foot of the podium in the other three races, the pluri world champion Robert Antonioli maintains his leadership in the sport.
Watch out for the next event in two weeks’ time in Val Martello!
