Auto Presentation

Hello! My name is Iwona and I am a big dreamer. Ever since I was a kid I was dreaming big and my parents taught me, that if you want your dreams to come true, you need to work for that. I fell in love in the mountains as a 7 yo girl, doing hard scrambling trails with my dad. Now I am working hard on my shape to compete in the most amazing skimountaineering races. This is the most amazing sport in the world: you can feel your heartbeat at never ending uphills and then reward yourself with an amazing downhill, it is really something, that brings you freedom!

Passions

I am devoted mountain lover, I love to explore wild trails: sometimes as a skier, another time as a runner and sometimes as a cyclist. My coach found it really difficult to make me to do a rest day! While not training, as a lieutenant in Polish Army, I am a spec-training instructor in Military Training Center.

Incoming Projects

My aim is to take part and perform well in La Grande Course races as Mezzalama, Pierra Menta and Adamello SkiRaid. I will also be happy to do some World Cup races and have fun at competitions in my neighbourhood. At the end of the season I am silently dreaming about Otzi Alpin Marathon which connects 3 of my favourite disciplines: skimo, running and cycling. Main summer project is Monterosa Sky Marathon, which sounds like “skimo - summer version”.

Out Of Seasons Training

Most of my out of season training is trail running and mountain biking. I love to take part in wide range of different competitions to never get bored. I have a lot of achievements in Skyrunning World Series, Vertical races, RedBull 400 races, Triathlon… Next season I am planning to take part in some MTB marathons in Poland.

Apparels

I have tried plenty of different kinds of skies but about Ski Trab I am the most happy with the downhill performance and durability. The ski« Gara Aero World cup Woman » gives me lightness at the uphill and confidence during the downhills. I also strongly recommend «Gara Power Cup» skies which I am using for trainings - they are slightly heavier but even better at downhill. Bindings that I am using are « Tr-Gara Titan WC » which allows me to be more precise during changes. Believe me or not, but there is a big advantage on uphill using carbon poles, so my choice were « Bastone Vertical Carbon ».
