The mountains are my biggest passion. There's nothing better in life, than being out there in the beautiful mountains all year round. On ski, by foot or on the bike ... the mountains are my playground, source of energy, short: my life!
My greatest goal in ski mountaineering is to win the Overall World Cup. Being able to perform on top level in all disciplines during the entire season is what I want to achieve next. Maybe already next season?!
In summer I mainly train on the bike, both road bike and mountain bike. I think that cycling is very similar to ski mountaineering and helps me to prepare best for the winter. But mountain running, climbing and weight training are essentially for my training, too.
The Gara Worldcup is my favorite. It's definitely the best ski for competition. In combination with the binding, I can rely 100% on the ski and can fully concentrate myself on the tactics of the race. For "normal" ski tours the Maestro is my choice. It's still super lightweight but with a perfect downhill performance. The Maestro is the ideal compromise between race- and touring.
